All students can grow…
Upon graduating from Texas Tech University in 2012, I desired to make a difference in children’s lives. I knew that teaching was not only my passion, but my calling. Over the past eight years, I have been inspired daily while teaching and growing students in the content area of English Language Arts and Reading. I, myself, have grown as an educator and a leader, and have learned that student growth takes diligence, dedication and determination.
More importantly, I’ve learned that just like wildflowers, students tend to grow in the most unexpected places.
My goal is and will always be to use my expertise in student-tailed curriculum design and instruction to promote literacy mastery, leadership, and skill development that aids in the growth and development in each and every student I encounter. Additionally, I aspire to empower teachers to have the confidence and knowledge to do the same–boldly stepping into their classrooms each day knowing that they can and will make a difference.
I hold a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Public Relations and a minor in Business from Texas Tech University (Wreck ‘Em Tech!), as well as a Master’s of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Sam Houston State University.
I hold a passion for curriculum design and development and have creatively engaged hundreds of students in rigorous lessons that not only challenge their individual thought processes, but help grow their skill and strategy development in new ways that best suit their needs.
Let’s grow together!
